General Admission Requirements for Direct Entry
Here’s what you need to study for a bachelor’s programme at Miva Open University
To be eligible for the Direct Entry Programme, applicants must possess one of the following qualifications in addition to meeting the ‘O’ Level requirements for the programmes:
- Passes in relevant subjects ('A' Level, IJMB, International Baccalaureate (IB), JUPEB)
- Diploma in relevant areas (NCE, ND, HND)
- Professional Certificates (ICAN, ICMA, CIBN, AAT, ACCA, ATS, AIB, CISN, etc)

Please note that direct entry application on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal is not mandatory at this stage. However, upon admission to the university, the provided results will be thoroughly verified for authenticity and compliance with the stated criteria, including JAMB Regularisation.

Direct Entry (DE) is a mode of entry into Nigerian universities that allows candidates with advanced educational qualifications beyond the traditional secondary school certificate to gain admission into universities at an advanced level, not the regular 100 Level/First year.
Candidates with additional qualifications such as A-levels (Cambridge, International Baccalaureate, JUPEB, or IJMB), National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or professional certifications( ICAN, ACCA or CIPM) as well as candidates who transfer credit scores from their current university.

Yes, you can transfer your credit score from your current university to Miva Open University through direct entry to further your studies.
No, you don’t need to take JAMB/UTME to gain direct entry into Miva Open University.
To apply, you need a credit/pass in three (3) course-relevant subjects. The application is free!
The tuition fee for all programmes under the School of Management is ₦150,000$295 per semester and ₦175,000$315 per semester for all programmes under the School of Computing and Allied Health Sciences.
Using Miva Open University’s learning management system, you will learn in a virtual classroom. You can access pre-recorded content at your convenience and engage in real-time activities with other learners. The learning management system enables interaction between you, other students, and teachers, offering access to course materials, discussion forums, multimedia content, and assessments.
Examinations are conducted in physical examination centers in the student’s state of residence. However, students who are resident outside Nigeria will take examinations online.
Yes, you can take study breaks. You would need to contact the academic support team to enable you to properly structure your breaks.
Miva graduates receive an NYSC certificate of exclusion which is an official NYSC certificate.
