About the Speaker:
Professor Francisca Onaolapo Oladipo is a Professor of Computer Science and the Vice-Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Kwara State, Nigeria. She serves as Vice-President of the Virus Outbreak Data Africa Network (VODAN), fostering Afrocentric data systems and leading initiatives recognized globally, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Previously, she held prominent roles in academia, including Director of Research at Kampala International University and pioneer Quality Assurance Director at Federal University Lokoja, where she also became the first female Governing Council member and Head of Computer Science. Her extensive international experience spans consultancy roles at Tilburg University, Netherlands, and research collaborations across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Prof. Oladipo is a distinguished recipient of numerous awards, including the Emerging Scholar Award from Universitat Politècnica de València. She is a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society and African Scientists Institute, with a robust background in machine learning, data science, and quality assurance.
With numerous publications and leadership roles in global projects, she continues to bridge research and practice, focusing on scalable solutions for emerging economies and advancing FAIR Open Science initiatives.
