About the Speaker:
Dr. Chimere Iheonu is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of South Africa, UNiSA, Johannesburg. He holds a PhD in Economics, awarded with distinction from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Additionally, he earned a master’s degree in economics, also with distinction, from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Imo State University, Nigeria.
Dr. Iheonu has been deeply involved in teaching, and delivering courses such as Principles of Economics and Introduction to Economics at the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria. His research interests lie in development macroeconomics, energy and environmental economics, and political economy. Dr. Iheonu has no less than 30 articles, out of which 24 were published in Thomson Reuters-indexed journals and 4 were published in Scimago/Scopus-indexed journals, and he frequently writes for various online outlets on economics and public policy issues.
He had worked in top organizations such as the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA) as a research associate and the uLesson Group Abuja as an economics course development expert.
